Biography
jada rowland
Begun as an painting demonstration. Here is that start and the final version of watercolor self-portrait:
Modeling Myself After Them
Born in New York and raised in a family of artists, jada became, quite by accident in early childhood, an actress. She is most remembered for her 8 Broadway plays ,her twenty years on the TV show The Secret Storm as Amy, and her eight years as Carolee on The Doctors as well as other work.
With a painter/illustrator grandfather and artist/writer parents to inspire her, jada had begun drawing and writing from the moment she could hold a pencil. She covered the back of every script with sketches of the other actors. Finally, in 1983, never having been unemployed for more than three months at a time and tired of acting, she took a big gamble. She decided to fulfill a lifelong desire to be a professional artist and writer so she quit acting but kept on drawing and painting and writing. In addition to her many prize-winning paintings she has also illustrated and/or written13 books (including the prize-winning Miss Tizzy) and she is a much sought-after portrait painter and teacher.
